How to tie a Chain Hitch

Chain Hitch Instructions

  1. Pass the rope around the chain link.
  2. Cross the standing part over the working end.
  3. Wrap the working end around the standing part and the chain two or three times.
  4. Tuck the working end through the loop created by the wraps and tighten the hitch.

Chain Hitch Common Uses

The Chain Hitch is used for securing a rope to a chain or any cylindrical object. It is often used in boating when attaching lines to anchor chains or other fittings.
