How to tie a Boat Knot (Bowline Knot)

Boat Knot/Bowline Knot Instructions

  1. Form a small loop in the standing part of the rope, and make sure the end passes behind the standing part.
  2. Bring the working end up through the loop.
  3. Continue around the standing part and back down into the loop.
  4. Tighten the knot by pulling the standing part and the working end simultaneously.

The Bowline Knot is versatile and widely used for creating a secure, non-slipping loop in the end of a rope. It is commonly used for tying the boat to a dock or securing a loop around a post or ring.
